The New Orleans Saints pick center Matt Tennant in the 5th round
The Saints have picked center Matt Tennant out of Boston College with the 158th overall pick (5th round) of the NFL Draft. The Saints thought so much of Tennant that they traded up to pick him. He is 6’4″, 290 pounds and he’s athletic enough to get out on linebackers or to pull on traps. He is also a good long snapper. Unlike most centers though it doesn’t appear that he is strong enough to play guard which is why he dropped to the 5th round. Tennant played in 13 games (all starts) at Boston College last season and he played in 46 games (41 starts) in his four years there. This was a solid pick for the Saints as Tennant could be the starting center of the future for them.
