The Saints held off the pesky Falcons last night on Monday Night Football.  Drew Brees was very effective as he completed 25 of 33 passes for 308 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception.  Brees moved the ball around to 8 different receivers in this game so that the Falcons couldn’t really double team anyone.  All was not good for Brees however as he did lose a fumble that was returned 4 yards for a TD by DE Kroy Biermann of the Falcons.  Pierre Thomas led the way on the ground for the Saints in this game with 91 yards rushing on 14 carries (6.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Mike Bell also did some heavy lifting in this game with 17 carries for 49 yards (2.9 ypc).  Marques Colston led the way for the Saints in the passing game with 6 catches for 85 yards (14.2 avg) with a TD grab.  TE Jeremy Shockey pitched in with 5 catches for 72 yards (14.4 avg) in this game.  The Saints finished up with 437 total yards on offense (146 rushing, 291 passing).

Safety Roman Harper led the way for the Saints on D in this game with 8 tackles.  Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter and Darren Sharper each picked off a Matt Ryan pass in this game.  Greer returned his pickoff 48 yards for a TD right at the end of the first half.  The Falcons finished up with 442 total yards (161 rushing, 281 passing) in this game.  The Saints are now 7-0 on the season.
