The Saints have picked a player who should help solve some of the major problems that they have had in the secondary in recent years.  Jenkins has good size at 6′0″, 200 and he has great speed running a 4.45 40.  Jenkins can also handle playing safety if the need arises for the Saints.  Jenkins played in 49 games (43 starts) in his 4 years at Ohio State and he made 196 tackles, broke up 17 passes, intercepted 11 passes (157 yards) and he also forced 4 fumbles.  This was a great pick for the Saints as Jenkins fills a huge need for the team.

The Saints have signed 24-year old linebacker Anthony Waters.  Waters missed his rookie season due to injury but he played in 7 games last season for the Chargers making only 3 tackles.  The Saints hope that Waters can stay healthy enough to back up Jonathan Vilma in the middle of the defense next season.
