Drew Brees did the best he could to keep up with the Steelers, but the Saints fell a little short.  Brees completed 31 of 47 passes for 398 yards and a TD, he also carried the ball 3 times for 14 yards.  Deuce McAllister carried the ball 15 times for 60 yards and 2 TDs.  Reggie Bush carried the ball 10 times for 49 yards (4.9 ypc) and a TD.  Bush also caught 7 passes for 40 yards.  Marques Colston was awesome with 10 receptions for 169 yards.  Terrence Copper caught 6 passes for 92 yards and a TD, but he fumbled a ball deep in Steelers territory at the end of the game.  Aaron Stecker caught 3 passes for 78 yards.

The Saints played absolutely NO defense!  The Steelers ran the ball 26 times for 217 yards (8.3 ypc).  The Steelers also completed 17 of 28 passes for 250 net yards passing.

It doesn’t matter how good the offense plays if the defense doesn’t improve, or the Saints will play alot of exciting games that they lose like they did today.

As I have stated in the past, present, and the future, the saints defense is not good. The defense gaved 38 points to the steelers. Great defenses wins games. The saints are an average team. Giving up that many points leaves a big time question mark. They have not improve each week. Defense wins games.

I’ve never thought of the Saints as a Super Bowl contender. They are much improved over last year’s version. I fully expect the Saints to draft all defensive players next season.
