Kicker John Carney on the outs for Saints?

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Saturday 9 September 2006 at 6:30 pm

The Saints brought in four kickers this week, as they are seeking a replacement for 42-year old John Carney.  Todd Peterson, Billy Cundiff, Nick Novak and Kurt Smith were all brought in for tryouts, but all of them walked away without a contract offer.

The end of Carney’s long career could be right around the corner.

The Chargers thought he was through when they let him go. They made a big mistake.

How long did George Blanda kick?

Let’s not act like he was drilling any long FG’s in that game.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe Carney himself wants to hang it up…I mean the man is 42….

Did it ever occur to anyone that the Saints may want someone for kickoffs and long field goals only?
