Reggie Bush is in the house

Reggie Bush signed a six-year contract with the Saints that guarantees him at least $26 million bucks and could net him up to $60 million total.  The Saints were ecstatic to see the best player in the draft be available for them to pick.  Bush can do it all…..run, catch and return kicks and is a true difference maker.  He will make Drew Brees’ comeback from shoulder surgery a little easier.

Bush was a dominator at USC.  In 39 games (15 starts) he rushed for 3,169 yards (7.3 ypc) with 25 TD runs.  He also caught 95 passes for 1,301 yards (13.7 avg.) with 13 TD receptions.

Bush can line-up at halfback, the slot, or the wideout position and he will wreak havoc on defenses and give the city of New Orleans something to be happy about.

Saints on the rebound with Brees at QB

Blogged under Front Page by ravenhater on Thursday 27 July 2006 at 8:08 pm

The Saints are looking to rebound with Drew Brees at QB.  Brees is much more careful with the football than the erratic Aaron Brooks who sometimes would just throw the ball up for grabs.  Brees has played in 59 games (58 starts) and completed 62.2% of his passes for 12,348 yards with 80 TD passes and 53 interceptions for a career QB rating of 84.9.  Brees is looking good in his recovery from shoulder surgery and will improve this teams offense immensely.

Todd Bouman has been the back-up for the Saints for awhile now, but he didn’t perform well when given the chance to play last season and will have to hold off veteran Jamie Martin who was brought in to challenge him.  Bouman has appeared in 42 games (only 6 starts) in his career and has completed 56.1% of his passes for 1,683 yards with 11 TD passes and 11 interceptions for a career rating of 75.3.

Jamie Martin is the challenger for the back-up QB job.  Martin has played in 34 games (8 starts) and has completed 65.6% of his passes for 3,606 yards with 19 TD and 20 INT for a career rating of 81.9.  The Saints appear to be in good position at QB for now no matter who wins the back-up job.

Adrian McPherson has yet to play in a game but has the raw skills to be a decent QB at some point.
